Raheem Manning is a dynamic leader in urban development and economic strategy, specializing in innovation, civic engagement, and the growth of Philadelphia’s Nighttime Economy. As the Director of Nighttime Economy and Business Development for the City of Philadelphia, Raheem drives initiatives that enhance the city’s vibrancy and cultural landscape. He is also the founder of The Weekender Experiences, LLC, a global travel and events management company dedicated to building community among Black travelers. Raheem’s work focuses on fostering economic recovery and growth in the arts and culture sector and nightlife sector ensuring Philadelphia remains a hub of creativity and opportunity.
Raheem Manning, the 35-year-old founder and CEO of The Weekender Experiences, LLC, is a West Philadelphia native with a deep passion for exploring the world and embracing new cultures. With an undergraduate degree from Clark Atlanta University, a certification in international business from East China Normal University in Shanghai, China, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Thomas Jefferson University, Raheem has dedicated his career to making travel accessible and enriching for young Black professionals.
Raheem firmly believes that young Black people should have the opportunity to explore the world, discover their identities, and find their place in a global context. Recognizing that systemic barriers and historical exclusion have often limited these opportunities, Raheem founded The Weekender Experiences to make travel both affordable and attainable. Having visited six continents and over 30 countries, Raheem understands the transformative power of travel in broadening perspectives and enhancing life as a Black American.
